Alrighty! So, in recent weeks we have been put a bit behind schedule on things here and there thanks to various technical difficulties. Raz's computer imploding, and Ken's internet flipping in and out. All that's resolved, and we're almost done with things.

So, let's cut to the chase. Here's how things are going to go down.

In game time, at the end of Febraury 7th, the Digital World reboots itself. Until February 15th, all Tamers will be data frozen. In game terms, and real life terms for that matter, a week will pass. On Febraury 15th, everything will be set into place, while posting and logs can resume as normal in real time as characters will come out of their data freeze. The big Chaosmon log will continue to wind its way down until we're done, and any currently running logs are fine to finish up.

In RP terms, characters will not notice the transition except to wake up and see that time has passed. Structural damage to the Digital World, except for Draco Island, will have been fixed by Yggdrasil. Character injuries sustained will however carry over into the DW's reboot.

All LJ Dive communities will be locked down around March 1st, just to give everyone time to finish tying things up.

In the meantime! The new Dive OOC comm will be open for business! Please start joining & posting over there for any relevant OOC needs.

All future announcements will go there first, as we make our way to transition over completely.

Coming in the next day or so will be the return of Applications, Reserves, and our revised set of Rules. As well as a brand new Plotting Meme for our brand new Digital World.

Thank you all again for your patience, as this is obviously something we never plan on doing again if we don't have to. We're almost done! :)

Hey, everybody! This is the final call to get your characters into the D-ARC before it closes!

Remember, there are now two places where you can submit your character information for this!

1. D-ARC on Livejournal.com
2. D-ARC on Dreamwidth.org

Sorry if all of this sounds annoying, but I'm really trying to make sure everyone who wants to continue with us after the move has the chance to do so. :)

The D-ARC will End on February 7th, 2012 at Midnight, PST. So you've got all of February 7th to get your characters in as well, until it hits Midnight my time! Pleeeease get your character information in if you haven't already!

The time for reinforcements against Chaosmon has come!

We encourage everyone to post with active characters for this, and remember - all characters can go Ultimate now! Chaosmon's army of wraiths is at perfect strength, but numerous, so it's gonna require as many people as possible to turn the tide.

So, the Tamer Class system, before it goes live - and even after, depending on how some things work in-game - is still open to modifications and changes as we go along. We're still open to suggestions as we move forward.

In that spirit, we've made some modifications to the Xros Tamer Class.

Upon realizing that the way we'd previously had it set up, for canon characters, only really canonically based itself on Taiki. He was the only one with five Digimon that canonically WOULD form a five Digimon "Final Xros." As well, leaving the Ultimate option for the Xros Class as a choice between the Xros and Super Evolution sort of felt like it went against the spirit of the show, as the Super Evolution would be incapable of Digi-Xros and the Tamer would be left with four Digimon who are useless when battles are on that scale. At that point, a Xros Tamer can't help their partner out in many ways, either.

So, we made some modifications: You can see them here.

The Ultimate option now IS simply Super Evolution. A Tamer can Digi-Xros up to five Digimon once reaching Perfect requirements, meanwhile, up to an X5 Xros Up, but it will max out at Perfect Level.

Meanwhile, the Super Evolution will be capable of slapping a single Xros Up onto it. This Super Evolution Xros Up must equate similarly to how it would at a lower level. It won't make the Super Evolution stronger, who is equated to Ultimate level, but it can thus change how they fight.

That way, the Xros Tamer and ALL their Digimon can be viable at any time, in any battle, at any level.

Another Announcement - In Character Contact Posts
Hey all, Jeni here.

First off, we all know there's a lot of things coming from a lot of different directions regarding the move, so as always we just urge everyone to hang in there with us as we make the transition to not only Dreamwidth but towards being a comm-based game.

That in mind, there's something else that's come up that we would like players to do in accordance with becoming comm-based.

Since character journals will go the wayside because of this, we have decided to follow suit with a lot of other comm-based games that instead urge players to keep pertinent information in their journals in lieu of communicator entries. Of these things that we would like to see upon the change over to DW is In-Character Contact Posts.

For those of you who have never used these before, they're basically voice mail attachments that work in tandem with whatever communication device the game has set up. Like any mobile phone they are used to leave messages to some one who might not be available right then, but beyond that they can also be used for private and locked correspondence between two people. They will have all the same functions as a regular D-Comm, including text, audio, and video.

For a few examples, these are some from my own accounts on this and other games:

Duo Maxwell - Siren's Pull
Minako Aino - Siren's Pull
Ritsu Namine/Looking Glass Club - Digital Dive

Some things to note:

These do not have to be fancy. However you wish to set these up is entirely your choice. Add pictures, add color, make the text pretty, or don't do anything. Just so long as they are set up, that's what we're looking for.
These will be linked some where accessible for the entire comm. Details are still being worked out as to WHERE but eventually there will be a place that everyone can go to and, say, look up Greg Sanders' IC contact and click a link to it. Many games keep this on the taken lists (along with required How's My Driving posts and app links, but this is not something we're going to require) for the same reason.
The mods would like to have your IC Contact Pages completed by Feb 20th. We're giving this a pretty wide due date since it is such a different thing for our players to do. There will be a post up on DW after the move that will be for posting the links.

So as always, thank you all for your patience and understanding with all these changes, and we all look forward to seeing you over at DW. :)

The Chaosmon log has progressed to a new thread, because the old one was huge and getting hard to load.

Feel free to post in before all the chaos and doom begins anew.

Edit - Note, of course, that the side fights against Daemon's crew will still continue in those respective threads in the first log. If you need links to them for slow loading computers/phones/whatever, ask a current mod.

More moving work - DATS!
As we're working towards moving, and getting last bits and pieces nailed down before we board up the windows here, one thing we need to do is run a glance over of the DATS membership.

I know we may be missing a couple people here, so if you apply, speak up! :)

When we reboot on Dreamwidth, there will be a more direct way to have characters ask to join DATS in-character, which will also make it easier for us to track and manage this roster. So, this list is for CURRENT members only. Recruitment drives and such forth will probably be forthcoming.

Remember, also, that there is now no "Main Branch" and "DATS Neon" - both branches fall under the same command umbrella, the only distinction being what division(s) your specialties apply to, and whether you operate primarily out of the offices in Neon City or Sanctity. Either way, anywhere in the world is just one lightpost jump away.

An updated rundown of what DATS is capable of, and how it benefits your characters, will be coming upon the relaunch, as well.

With that, lets see what we have at last count, shall we?Collapse )

Hey Divers,

This is just a heads up that Kate is moving in with Taco , Tsumi and myself this weekend, Taco and I will be going up to Portland tomorrow evening to help load the truck and returning Friday to unload and get her moved in. Unfortunately this means we may be a bit slow to get to things for a while, including tags and modly duties (for Taco and I at least. we're special snowflakes! I mean. Responsible modings.)

After that though things should return to relative normal for us. :)

Have a great weekend, Dive, and we'll see everyone when the insanity is over!

By the way, if you're around the area of the Chaosmon battle.

Phase Two and reinforcements (basically, anyone in the whol damn game who wants to take pot shots at him) coming soon~

Well, who's THIS douchebag?

Hey, all, it's Ari again, dropping by to say that I, hopefully by the end of the week, will be fully back and posting! My plan is to unfreeze a few characters and then unfreeze the rest after the Dreamwidth move. At the moment, I'm doing house cleaning on which ones I'll be keeping, which ones I'll be dropping, and what classes they will all be.

ESSENTIALLY, for anyone who wasn't in the chat that time I...miraculously appeared this month, I am not dead, I will be returning (with fewer characters) and I anticipate posting to commence...well, within days. <3

Chaosmon Thread Update
Here's where we currently are.

At this point, the best way to hit Chaosmon and hit him hard is to channel your character's Digi-Soul into the Halberd. Those present likely don't want to draw Chaosmon's attention TO the Halberd, so the ancient Royal Knight lookalikes are doing their best to keep him busy and not die in the process while everyone else is open to funnel Digi-Soul and prepare attacks for the NEXT round.

This comes after speaking with Area Leader Dukemon, discovering secrets about the Halberd, and proposing a battle plan.

DATS Vice-Commander Ivan has issued a call to arms and any & all able bodied reinforcements will have a venue to strike at Chaosmon in due time.

In the meantime, there are logs for the events being caused by Chaosmon merely existing in Tetha, Neon City, and Axoryi. If there are any notable things you'd like done in other major sections of the Digital World, let us know and we'll see about getting a log up.

For the MAIN Chaosmon log, reinforcements will arrive once we enter Phase Two. The fight may or may not go into its proposed Third or "Final" Phase, depending on how the log advances. Couldn't be entirely certain on the outset how many thread parts it would take, in regards to page stretching and whatnot, but it seems to have been managed there better than expected.

There will be another, climactic shift in the battle on Chaosmon's end once the first phase ends, so be ready for it. If you haven't gotten a chance to tag in and don't know what to do with your characters, it could be easily explained that they could be have gotten lost or tossed around in the shuffle and chaos of the battlefield, perhaps. We want to give everyone who has the chance to tag in, TO tag in, which is why we've been leaving the windows of opportunity pretty much wide open except when we're preparing Chaosmon's actual movements.

In other news, moving to Dreamwidth is advancing. Be sure to check out the Dive Activity Roll Call, or "D-ARC," and the introduction of the Tamer Classes which is still experiencing some tweaks as we work on everything under the sun at once, so feel free to chime in if you have any questions or suggestions so we can implement them before everything goes FULLY live on it.

So, here is something that has been talked about off and on for several months.

It's obvious that, with the way Dive's partner and evolution system is set up, it favors super powered fighters, Savers characters, and ... well, primarily that. It was built based off the Savers evolution & battle system, and while that's worked and DOES work, it creates some inherent limitations. For one, Digimon characters from most other canons recieve the short end of the stick.

Introducing, the Digimon Tamer Class System.

With this, Digimon Tamers are now broken into four "Classes," based off four archetypes plucked from various TV Anime continuities of the franchise. Click on each link for further explanation -

The Soul Tamer - Based off "Digimon Savers," this will remain the default Class. If you don't want to worry about this? Don't! You can just do nothing and your character will retain their ability to use Digi-Soul.

The Matrix Tamer - Basically, a Tamers-Tamer, based off of "Digimon Tamers." Losing Digi-Soul, they gain Option Cards, and the ability to fuse into Ultimate with their partner.

The Spirit Tamer - Based on "Digimon Frontier," the Spirit Tamer uses the Legendary Spirits to transform into Hybrid Digimon. The only class where you have no partner, the character becomes a Digimon. This will be much harder to pass for existing characters, and new characters will have to come up with a very good excuse for it. As it is limited, we're just sticking to the standard 11 Spirit lines, which are mostly locked in place, excepting some holes that have been filled in thanks to Raz & Goggs.

The Xros Tamer - And to contrast the above, based off "Digimon Xros Wars," a Tamer with the ability to utilize up to five partners, Digi-Xrossing them into forms instead of evolving them. This particular one also does require a lot of extra work, so be forewarned.

Effectively, Soul & Matrix Tamers are the easiest to apply for, followed by Spirit, and then Xros being the hardest.

Click here to see the Class Change Request application form over on Dreamwidth, where we'll want yuo to submit requests for Class Changes. There is a limit of FOUR requests per Mun, so we can be able to handle them in addition to all of the other moving day details. More request slots will open up later.

As a given rule, if your character is a super powered fighter, or a fighter in general, they'll PROBABLY want to stick with Soul Tamer. If your character is a non-combatant, other options become more viable.

When your characters wake back up on Dreamwidth after the move, any approved requests will take affect then. Afterwards, in-game, it will be because it was granted by Witchenly. Of course, new applications will have this concept worked in... but again, if you just want to stick to how you've been doing it, you can just pick Soul Tamer and roll with that.

Again, this ONLY GOES INTO EFFECT after the move. We just want your requests in now so we can get working on them.

Edit: Due to us overlooking it originally, we're adding a segment for character abilities for the class change request. However, you can simply copy and paste from or link to your old app for this section.

Keep in mind, as well, we are completely open to feedback and suggestions to better improve these!

Sad news divers.

As of this thread, Al has sacrificed another character to Gluttony's insatiable hunger.

you may remember once upon a time Mary Jane Watson's partner, a Mikemon, estranged from his daughter who was Beastboy's partner Isha.

When Mary Jane was killed Mikemon escaped, and driven mad by his failure became the costumed crimefighter, The Spiritmon. Now he too has fallen, while trying to destroy the very monster that started it all.

Friend remove fedorafeline

But have no fear! Someone new will don the fedora of the barely noticed and not particularly important vigilante of Tetha. His daughter will be using the account tailmon_pi for her icons as she continues the legacy.

Hey ho Divers! Al here!

So, we're kind of experiencing an End of the World scenario right? Chaos, destruction, rioting, and all with the comfort of knowing our property damage will be undone when it's all over. And our muses are "Thrilled" I'm sure.

So, I thought I'd throw this up to co-ordinate some interactions in the greater digital world threads. That is to say, if you would like to request some kind of specific interaction for your characters, post it here!

As you're all aware I have entirely too many muses and have decided I want to post with as many of them as possible so if you want someone maimed, rescued, you want to fight back to back with someone, maybe settle an old score with an enemy or team up with a friend I'll be happy to help.

Annnnd thanks to Jeni's thing here, all our active muses are listed among these  pages. Isn't that lovely?

Even if it's not with one of my muses I'm sure your fellow players would love to accommodate and co-ordinate with you. We're kind of awesome like that.

I'll be posting hardcore starting Friday and have devoted my three day weekend to this chaos.

Ready? Set? Scheme!

Hey, everyone! Taco here, and I'm letting you guys know that as of right now, Reserves and Applications are both closed in the interest of ease during the impending Dreamwidth move. The only applications we are accepting are those who have a current reserve (of which there are two), but any other applications will not be looked over if posted to the current applications page.

Now that we've got that taken care of, carry on as normal!

It starts, for reals: http://dive-logs.livejournal.com/876513.html?thread=31121377#t31121377

And, things are moving!

Daemon and his sealed warriors have arrived, to further wreck Draco Island.

There will be two open sub boss threads -

Vile & Raidenmon, super charged on the Demon Seals of Wrath - http://dive-logs.livejournal.com/876513.html?thread=31043809#t31043809

Daemon himself - http://dive-logs.livejournal.com/876513.html?thread=31120353#t31120353

Vile needs three players, and Daemon needs two more, as a couple others have already signed on.

NOTE: If you participate in these fights, your characters will still be viable to help finish off Chaosmon later on.

Trust me. You'll understand why soon enough.

Hey all. This is Ra-

The worthless mortal, or razorsaw as you call him, who deigns to control my actions is still having computer trouble, but thanks to the paltry technology he calls "his backup laptop", he is more or less available and things will progress as normal.
